Rainbow Ponies
Rainbow Ponies were named for their rainbow colored hair. They were printed in Year 2, between 1983 and 1984, and were the first set to feature all three types of ponies: earth ponies, pegasus ponies, and unicorns. All of the ponies in this group have glittery symbols. The colors in their rainbow-striped hair are, from front to back: dark pink, golden yellow, sea-green, and blue. Some of the Rainbow Ponies were available in later years through mail order offers and European exclusive offers, and most weren't altered when re-released. A second set of Rainbow Ponies was released in Year 3. Each of the ponies came with a brochure, a brush with a rainbow sticker on it, a comb, a ribbon, and a scented sticker.

Sunlight

Sunlight is a pale aqua adult earth pony with purple eyes. Her hair is rainbow colored: dark pink, golden yellow, sea-green, and blue. Her symbol is a glittery silver sun behind gold clouds. She is in the Bow-Tie Pose.
Sunlight came with a brochure, a ribbon, a scented sticker, a basic hot pink comb, and a hot pink shooting star brush with a rainbow sticker on it.

Starshine

Starshine is a white adult pegasus pony with blue eyes. Her hair is rainbow colored: dark pink, golden yellow, sea-green, and blue. Her symbol is a glittery gold eight-pointed star with gold dots around it. She is in the Firefly Pose. She was released again in the second set of Rainbow Ponies, in Year 3.
Starshine came with a brochure, a ribbon, a scented sticker, a basic purple comb, and a purple shooting star brush with a rainbow sticker on it.

Windy

Windy is a pale lavender adult unicorn pony with blue eyes. Her hair is rainbow colored: dark pink, golden yellow, sea-green, and blue. Her symbol is a glittery purple swirl of wind. She is in the Glory Pose. She was released again in the second set of Rainbow Ponies, in Year 3.

Sky Dancer is a yellow adult pegasus pony with pink eyes. Her hair is rainbow colored: dark pink, golden yellow, sea-green, and blue. Her symbol is seven glittery green flying birds. She is in the Firefly Pose.

Moonstone is a light blue adult unicorn pony with dark pink eyes. Her hair is rainbow colored: dark pink, golden yellow, sea-green, and blue. Her symbol is nine glittery silver and blue moons surrounding the silver and blue planet Saturn. She is in the Glory Pose. Moonstone was released again in the second set of Rainbow Ponies, in Year 3.
