The first set of Princess Ponies appeared in Year 6. They were printed between 1986 and 1987. These ponies had jeweled medallion symbols and strands of colored metallic tinsel in their hair. Three more sets of Princess Ponies would ultimately be released: the Year 6 Princess Ponies, the Year 7 Brush n' Grow Princess Ponies, and the Year 9 Princess Ponies. In the US, each Year 5 Princess Pony came with a Bushwoolie friend, like the Bushwoolies on the "My Little Pony and Friends" TV show and in My Little Pony the Movie. In the UK, they were sold with Dragon friends in place of the Bushwoolies. Each pony also came with a princess hat, a glittery wand, a glittery star pick, and a ribbon with metallic trim.
