Unicorn Ponies

The Unicorn Ponies, along with the Pegasus Ponies introduced the same year, began the more mythological phase of My Little Ponies. The first unicorns were printed in Year 2, between 1983 and 1984. Each pony in this set has a spiral unicorn horn on her forehead and a glittery symbol. Two poses were carved for this set, the Moondancer Pose and the Glory Pose. While all previous ponies were printed with hair of a single, solid color, each unicorn was given a strip of a second color in her mane. A second set of Unicorn Ponies was released in Year 3. Each pony came with a pamphlet, a star brush, a ribbon, and a scented sticker.
