Sweetheart Sister Ponies were introduced in Year 7, between 1988 and 1989, to be followed the next year by Glittery Sweetheart Sister Ponies and Prom Queen Sweetheart Sister Ponies. Presumably, the Sweetheart Sisters were intended as teenage ponies; they have slender bodies, narrow faces, and longer, thinner legs than any previous ponies. Their eyes are narrow and they have more eyelashes than most other ponies. All of the Sweetheart Sisters are earth ponies, and they all wear eyeshadow and have a flower-shaped earring in one ear. All of their symbols are bouquets of flowers. Each pony came with a mesh bow, a butterfly brush or flower brush, and a ribbon.
