Peek-a-Boo Baby Ponies

The Peek-a-Boo Baby Ponies were the first ponies with posable heads. They were printed between 1987 and 1988. Like the Sundae Best and Princess Ponies introduced the same year, most of these ponies appear to be in the same poses as previously released ponies, but are not: their bodies were re-carved to allow for their rotating heads. The two boy ponies in this set were both printed in the same pose -- a pose very different from the original baby boy pose. The new pose was more like those of the adult boy ponies, with a slimmer body and shaggy, Clydesdale-like hooves. Each Peek-a-Boo Baby Pony came with a ribbon, a duck comb or bear brush, and a white bib with colored trim and a colored stamp (blue bear stamps for the boys, and pink butterfly stamps for the girls).
