Baby Fancy Pants Ponies (released in Year 7, between 1988 and 1989) are a group of baby ponies with diapers printed directly onto their bodies, instead of symbols. Each baby's diaper is white with a colorful pattern. Some, though not all Fancy-Pants Baby Ponies have forelocks of a different color than the rest of their hair. Curiously, the US versions of these ponies were printed not in China, like other US ponies, but in Thailand. The European versions were printed in China, and some of them have different hair colors from their US counterparts.
Most of the ponies in this set were printed in common poses, but the one pegasus pony was printed in an altered variant of the Baby Bouncy Pose, which was used for this set alone. (Presumably, the pose had to be redesigned to allow the diaper to be printed on more easily behind the wings.) Although only one set of Baby Fancy Pants ponies was ever released, there was also a mail-order exclusive pony (called simply Baby Pony) who was made in the same style.
Each Baby Fancy Pants pony came with a training cup, a dish, a spoon, a mesh bow (to wear around her neck), a bird brush or duck comb, and a ribbon, among other accessories.
Baby Starburst is a dark pink baby earth pony with blue hair and purple eyes. Her symbol is a white diaper with yellow and blue stars and crescent moons all over it. She is in the Baby Blossom Pose. Baby Starburst came with a training cup, a blue dish, a yellow spoon, a stacking toy, a yellow bow, a yellow duck comb, and a ribbon.
Baby Glider is a purple baby unicorn pony with yellow eyes. Her hair is white with a neon yellow forelock. Her symbol is a white diaper with pink and green butterflies all over it. She is in the Baby Glory Pose. Baby Glider came with a training cup, a blue dish, a spoon, a duck pull toy, a dark pink bow, a green duck comb, and a ribbon.
Baby Bows is a dark blue baby earth pony with light pink hair and dark purple eyes. Her symbol is a white diaper with pink and yellow bows all over it. She is in the Baby Blossom Pose. Baby Bows came with a training cup, a dish, a spoon, a duck pull toy, a purple bow, an aqua duck comb, and a ribbon.
Baby Sunnybunch is a mint green baby earth pony with pink eyes. Her hair is yellow with a white forelock. Her symbol is a white diaper with lavender flowers and green leaves all over it.
