Sea Sparkle Baby Sea Ponies were printed in Year 5, between 1986 and 1987. They were the third set of Baby Sea Ponies, following the original Baby Sea Ponies and the Pretty n' Pearly Baby Sea Ponies. (A fourth and final set would be released the following year.)
The Sea Sparkle Baby Sea Ponies were the only Sea Ponies with symbols: each pony has a shell necklace printed around her neck. They were also the only US Sea Ponies to have two colors in their manes. A new float shape, the lobster float, was introduced with the Sea Sparkle Baby Sea Ponies. Each pony came with a float, a fish comb, a ribbon.
