Daddy Party Time owns and manages the Ponyland farm, which produces most of the town's food supply. He spends almost all of his time working in the fields or overseeing the general farm business. But whenever he can find time, he enjoys tending to the rosebushes in front of the farmhouse. He planted these rosebushes as a gift to his wife, Candlelight, who often watches him at work through the kitchen windows.

Five of Party Time's six children still live at home, but his oldest son, Celebrate, is married, and lives in town with his wife and daughter. Party Time had always hoped that his son would take after him in character as he does in appearance, but alas, the boy has always had a mind of his own, and has pursued a city life with an older woman, in spite of Party Time's open disapproval. Since the birth of Celebrate's first daughter, Party Time has finally given up any hopes that his son will one day come home to take up the family business. Although Party Time adores his granddaughter, however, he still has his reservations about the child's mother, SKylight.
Party Time's oldest daughter is Best Wishes, who takes after her mother. For many years, Party Time worried that Best Wishes would never find a husband, since she's so withdrawn and timid, and never leaves home. Party Time now has his eye on a stallion named Sweetcake, a bright and eager young farmhand, whom he hopes to marry to his daughter, and leave his farm to someday.

The rest of Party Time's children are much younger. Sleepy Head and his twin sister Frosting are seven, and the twin boys Cuddles and Rattles -- whom Party Time and his wife adopted because of Cuddles close friendship with their son -- are six years old. Frosting is a sweet and responsible girl, but her brothers are nothing but trouble for Party Time.
Still, life on the farm is mostly quiet. Party Time rarely goes into town except to attend town meetings or conduct business, prefering to stay at home with his family. He's an old fashioned pony who grew up on a farm and is still married to his high-school sweetheart. They've both lived in Ponyland since the town was founded in 1989.
