These are my recent customs, dating from 2000 to the present. By contrast to my "early customs," most of these ponies have re-rooted hair, and very few are painted.
Dream Catcher is a custom Rainbow Pony. She was made from a Starshine. All but the front strip of her hair was removed, she was dyed blue, and then she was rehaired with her own original rainbow hair.
Baby Snowflake is a custom Baby Powder. She was made from a Lavender Baby Ember, rerooted with G3 pony hair, and painted with a glittery symbol. She was a Christmas present for Grayswandir in 2006.
Sleep Tight is modeled after Pillow Talk -- Twice as Fancy, but with striped rather than solid-colored hair. She was originally a Mommy Sweet Celebrations. She was rerooted with hair from a Gingerbread.
Sleep Tight is a bartender at the Ponyland night club, and co-manages the business with Paradise and Princess Sparkle. Her favorite drink is a margarita.
Pink Lemonade is modeled after early pegasus ponies: glittery symbol, solid hair color. She was originally a Mommy Firefly, and was rerooted with hair from a G3 pony. The idea for her hair color and symbol was taken (with permission) from a user on the MLPTP.
Pink Lemonade is the proud mother of Baby Tappy, and would love to be a stay-at-home mom. Instead, she makes her way as a cashier at Ponyland Grocery, and spends her free time cleaning house.
Baby Hershey is a custom baby for Chocolate Delight. He was originally a Beddy-Bye-Eye Baby Shady, but was given a new symbol and rerooted with hair from a Majesty and two G2 ponies.
Hershey is the six-year-old son of Cocoa.
Wild Card was one of my first customs, made when I was eleven or twelve. He was originally a So Soft Gusty, with cropped mane and extensive flocking wear. I deflocked him and gave him a new symbol (a pair of scissors), and named him Wild Card. In 2004, I painted him white, as his plastic was very dingy. I also removed the red strip from his mane, and repainted a new and more appropriate symbol for him, which he likes much better.
Wild Card is husband to Bluebelle, and father of Chance, Baby Bluebelle, and Gusty. He is a rock dj at the Ponyland radio station, and is interested in Medieval warfare, armor, and weaponry. He and his wife are deeply involved in the annual Medieval Fair in Ponyland, and their children think both of them are mad.
Snowshoe is the first of a prospective set of winter-themed ponies. She was made from a custom-bait Sundance, and was rerooted with hair from the Pony Bride, which had first been dyed pink. She was a Christmas present for Grayswandir in 2003.
Snowshoe manages the newly-built Ponyland Theater, and she teaches drama and stage production at the school. She likes pastries, dance performances, and classic rock, and she drinks a lot of coffee.
Dusty is a custom little brother for Lucky the Stallion. He was made from a Baby Blue Ember with cropped hair.
Dusty is the younger brother of Lucky and son of Quarterback. He enjoys skateboarding, and is close friends with Baby Celebrate, whom he is teaching to skateboard. He also likes lying around, eating junk food, and watching cartoons. He's six years old.
Swiss was another fairly early custom. She was made from the Pony Bride. Originally, I colored her hair pink with permanent marker; but as this started to stain her body, I removed the hair and rerooted with pink G2 hair instead. After being thoroughly washed and properly dyed, her old hair was given to Snowshoe.
Swiss is Ponyland's new dentist, and is still somewhat in training under Bright Eyes and Ribbon, the town Doctors.
Crystal was originally a poor-condition Majesty; her symbol was almost completely gone. She was rerooted with hair from a G2 Ivy.
Crystal works at the Ponyland Inn, providing room service and cleaning. She is a hard worker but keeps mostly to herself, and is not yet well known in the town.
Baby Skylight was originally a Little Giggles. She was rerooted with hair from a Party Time. She was made to look a little like both of her parents, but mostly like her father.
Baby Skylight is the daughter of Skylight and Celebrate. She sometimes attends preschool, and usually plays with Bootsie, who is trying to get her into sports, even though she is still just learning to talk.
Skippity Doo is as much a restoration as she is a custom. When I got her, her hair was extremely dry and frizzy, and her flocking was worn, dirty, and moldy. One of her eyes was very badly scratched, and she also had pony cancer.
As you can see, she looks much better now. I cleaned and deflocked her, repainted her eye, treated her for pony cancer, and used a straightening iron on her hair, then trimmed it a little. She still has some mold spots, but nevertheless, the improvement was dramatic.
Skippity Doo doesn't have a proper job in Ponyland yet, but she's the manager and ringleader of the Ponyland Circus, which is only open in Spring. She spends much of her time training her animals and recruiting acts for the shows.
Panda Bear is made somewhat in the style of Fancy Pants Baby Ponies. He has blue pants painted on for his symbol, and a strip of lavender rooted into his mane and tail. He was originally a newborn Tangles.
Panda Bear is three years old and is the adopted baby of Strawberry Shortcake -- so he gets to spend as much time as he wants at the arcades.
Mike was originally a very dingy Fizzy. I made him before I knew about rehairing, so he still has his original hair; it's just cut short. He was repainted a darker green and given a new symbol.
Mike manages the Ponyland sports shop, and plays with the merchandise in his spare time. If he isn't working, he can almost always be found on the basketball courts, or playing soccer or football at the park.
Baby Munchy was originally a Baby Jangles; I painted him and rerooted him with hair from a G3 pony.
Baby Munchy is the two-year-old son of Munchy.
Baby Piggy was made from a Baby Puddles with cropped hair. He has not been rerooted, although I may reroot him in the future.
Baby Piggy currently lives at the Ponyland Orphanage. He attends preschool and finds Baby Yoyo very annoying.
